Pat Spangler
Pat Spangler began her career at Andrews University in 1993 as the office manager for the Office of Public Relations and has remained in the same red brick building ever since.
Through the years her role has evolved through many positions including web coordinator, assistant director, editorial assistant, and assistant editor for FOCUS magazine. As editor of FOCUS magazine, Pat selected and edited features, news, photos and all other aspects of the magazine. She lays out and designs the magazine’s department sections and collaborates with a contract designer on layout of feature articles.
Pat also produces the biannual Visitor’s Guide and annual Information Directory, and collaborates with the production of the annual Activities Calendar.
As editorial manager, Pat is responsible for editing external and internal communication pieces, including press releases, departmental brochures, advertisements and programs, to ensure consistency in voice and editorial style.
Previous employment was mostly as an administrative assistant in various fields, including banking and the legal system.
Pat feels privileged to live near both my daughters who are married and have blessed me with four wonderful grandchildren. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with family, friends, and her new kitten Sophie, read, work outdoors, and travel.
