Gerald New

After growing up in Pathfinders, got back into the ministry as an adult, when his pastor, Ron Whitehead, told him to start a club. After 20 years as Club Director, he stepped down to become Area Coordinator in the Carolina Conference. Gerald has been to all the “BIG” Camporees, taking his club to the first four and then helping behind the scenes in nighttime programming in the last three.

Gerald and his wife Kathy spend most of the year in western North Carolina where they work in construction. The rest of the year, they live in western Colorado near their six grand kids and the kid’s parents and teach snow skiing at Monarch Ski Area. Carolina Pathfinders Bike for Life, painting, fly fishing, and gardening fill up the spare time. He loves working with the Pathfinders but teens are his special interest. Helping them develop their leadership skills, increasing their involvement in their church, and joining them in seeking a deeper relationship with their Creator, always challenges him.
