General Information for International Guests
Village Help Desk
Before traveling to Camporee, it is wise to read all the information through this website. Plan ahead to make the most of your camporee expeience. If you are communicating with a North American Division club that is hosting you, feel free to ask them questions before and through camp days.
While at Camporee, you can always find help or get your questions answered at the Village Help Desk located near the International Village Worship tent.
Hours: 7am-7pm, Tuesday-Friday. Staff will be on duty through Monday and Saturday night to help international guests arriving and leaving the grounds to make travel connections. During these two nights only, international guests who arrive before or stay after their host club will be given floor space to sleep in the worship and dining tents.
Camporee Health Tips
A few tips for staying healthy while at the Camporee.
Drink Water
It is extremely important for each person in your club, sponsors, families, and support staff to drink at least 8 cups or 2 liters of water per day. It is easy to become dehydrated which leads to other problems such as abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea, constipation, and weakness. It is highly recommended you drink at least one bottle of water with Gatorade type powder added to it to ensure you maintain a healthy electrolyte balance. Drink! Drink! Drink! Water is your friend!
Use Hand Sanitizer
Wash hands with soap or use hand sanitizer (cleaning gel you can purchase) after using the Port-o-lets (toilets) and before and after eating. Apply sanitizer liberally to both hands. Always have it available at your campsite to help prevent the spreading of germs and bacteria. Remind each other to protect everyone's health.
Regarding Food
Keep the refrigerated food in your camp colder than 41 degrees Farenheit (5 C) at all times. Restock the ice frequently and use a thermometer to make sure it is staying cold. If it becomes warm, bacteria will multiply and you will get sick eating spoiled food.
If you are heating food, bring it to a full rolling boil or use a stem thermometer to make sure it gets to an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 C). Do not undercook any raw foods of an animal origin. They are especially dangerous. Do not hold any food above this temperature more than 3 hours.Iillness will be very likely due to increased bacteria over time.
Keep the food surfaces in your camp as clean as you can. Wash your dishes in soapy hot water and rinse them in water that has 2 teaspoons of bleach added for every gallon (4 liters) of water. Dirty dishes can breed bacteria and make you ill.
Be cautious about where you eat and drink. While sharing is a great part of the Camporee experience, food sharing has inherent risks. Be very careful about eating food that you are offered if you are not sure that it has been prepared safely.
If you experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, high fever, jaundice and malaise, you may be carrying a viral pathogen that is highly contagious to others. Seek medical attention immediately and do not prepare or handle food.
Sun Exposure
The sun can be very harmful if you get too much. It is a brutal source of radiation that can make you very sick and ruin your Camporee experience. Use hats, sunglasses, sunscreens, and shelters to minimize your exposure.
Translation
Main Stage evening programs will be translated into 4 different languages. It is important that each person brings their own portable FM Transmitter radio, to hear the translations. Portable FM Transmitter radios will not be available or provided by Camporee.

Trading Pins
NAD club members and staff have enjoyed collecting pins representing different clubs or regions as souvenirs of the Camporee experience. Some NAD conferences develop a special pin which club members can purchase a supply of, to trade with campers from other clubs, conferences, countries and continents. International guests are welcome to participate, and may wish to bring some pins to trade, representing their club/group, or bearing their country’s flag. Trading pins are small (about 1-2cm in diameter) and have a way to fasten to clothing. Camporee will be a great experience, making new friends and participating in activities with or without trading pins, so this is entirely optional.
Uniforms
If your pathfinder club or group has a uniform, bring it along. Most NAD clubs create their own unique field uniform, usually a t-shirt, which is worn to all kinds of events. This is optional but helpful in finding your group members in 40,000+ campers gathered for evening meetings! NAD pathfinder clubs frequently wear dress uniform in parades, in drill competitions, and to Sabbath services. Many guests will attend Camporee who are not members of a uniformed pathfinder club, so you will feel right at home with or without uniform.
International Parade
All international campers are invited to participate in the Daily On-site Parade on Friday, August 16. Bring your country’s flag (optional) and your club’s banner. Regional leaders will update your group on where to assemble at 2:40pm, wearing your club’s uniform or national costumes, for the Chosen International Camporee parade.

Pathfinder Staff Training
The North American Division Pathfinder Ministry team offers leadership training contextualized to NAD settings. International guests are welcome to attend one or more sessions to expand their regional training, but should be aware that this training may not fulfill requirements in their Division. They are providing the full Basic Staff Training Certification workshop list and the eight New Skills seminars in the proposed NAD Master Guide Curriculum currently being evaluated. Course numbers are listed for the BST, but have not yet been assigned to the MG workshops.

Flag Raising & Lowering
International guest Pathfinders will have the opportunity to help raise & lower the Camporee's many large flags.
