World Record Attempts

There will be many opportunities to set World Records at the 2019 Camporee. Here are some possible ideas we are looking into now. Stay tuned and check back often for a complete approved list.

  • Largest Human Cross: Be a part of this special World’s Record Largest Human Cross!  We need 16,000 Pathfinders, Master Guides and Adventurers to join us on Sabbath Morning, after the Worship Service to form this Human Cross.  To participate, everyone must wear the hooded top that goes over the uniform, that you may pick up as you register your club at Camporee Registration.  The cost is $1.00 for each top and includes a commemorative magnetic chip that you must bring, along with the hooded top to the World Record Event. You may register and pay in person at the Camporee Registration building.  Preordered tops can be picked up at the Registration building.

Schedule: Sabbath Morning, immediately following the Worship Service on Main Stage

Location: Back of audience seating from Main Stage

  • Largest Pathfinder Scarf and Slide: Can you imagine the Pathfinder that will wear this scarf?! We are making a Yellow Pathfinder Scarf that is 300 feet from tip to tip and 150 feet from front to back tip.  WOW!!! And the slide will be in proportion to match.  On Sabbath morning, depending on the wind and weather, we will display the scarf, either by picking up the scarf with a crane (it will weigh about 800 pounds), or by having Pathfinders walk in with it to display during the Investiture Program!  Much of the sewing will take place right on the Camporee grounds so come by and see this World’s Record being made right in front of you!

Schedule: Tuesday 12:00pm - Friday 12:00pm or until completed.

Location: At Main Stage assembly area

  • Number of Persons Performing Jumping Jacks for One Minute: How long can you do Jumping Jacks?  We want to set the World’s Record for the number of people performing Jumping Jacks continuously for exactly 60 seconds or 1 minute.  We need over 2000 adults and Pathfinders of any age to help us!  When we start, we can not stop for any reason but continue for 60 seconds.  Are you up to the challenge?  We know you are and we need your help to set this record!  We will send out the day and time of this challenge so you can be a part!

        Schedule: Wednesday -1:00pm

Location: Back of audience seating from Main Stage

  • Largest Piggy Back Race: When is the last time you were a part of a Piggy Back Race?  Get in on this World’s Record.  We need over 1200 participants or 600 teams of two.  A piggyback race is a race where one person runs while carrying another person on their back and shoulders. It does not matter the age of anyone, whether carrying or riding but at the horn, everyone must race towards the finish line 100 yards away.  This will be fun!!!! To participate in and to watch!  We will give time and location as soon as possible.

        Schedule: Thursday 1:00pm

Location: Back of audience seating from Main Stage
